Riverlane
Riverlane is a quantum computing company developing Deltaflow, a Quantum Error Correction Stack that enables quantum computers to scale and deliver real-world impact sooner.
About
Riverlane’s mission is to make quantum computing useful sooner—ushering in an era of human progress as profound as the industrial and digital revolutions.
To achieve this, the company is building Deltaflow, the Quantum Error Correction Stack designed to fix the millions of data errors that currently prevent quantum computers from reaching useful scale. Riverlane works with governments, quantum hardware companies, and world-leading research institutions to accelerate the commercial viability of quantum technology.

The company was founded in 2016 by Steve Brierley, then a senior research fellow in computational mathematics at the University of Cambridge. At the time, many believed that useful quantum computing was more than 20 years away—or might never be realised. However, Steve’s own research uncovered a quantum ‘Moore’s law’, showing that small-scale quantum computers were doubling in power every two years, suggesting that scale was possible within a decade.
With this insight, support from Cambridge University, and guidance from leaders such as ARM co-founder Jamie Urquhart, Steve founded Riverlane from his kitchen table. The company has since grown into a global player with offices in Cambridge (UK), Boston, and San Francisco.
