Xampla

Xampla has created the world’s first plant protein material for commercial use.

A spin-out from the University of Cambridge, Xampla’s mission is to replace everyday single-use plastics, like bags, sachets and flexible packing film, and microplastics within liquids and lotions.

Existing natural, primarily polysaccharide materials typically cannot match the performance of plastic without chemical additions. Xampla’s plant protein material does not require linking with harmful solvents to make it a viable alternative to synthetic polymers.

Find out about the hidden plastics in products.

Learn about Xampla’s science, which leverages protein’s ability to self-assemble into strong and flexible structures.
