iPremom
iPremom develops molecular diagnostics to predict pregnancy complications from a simple blood test in the first trimester.
About
iPremom is a Valencia-based molecular diagnostics company helping clinicians identify pregnancy risks before symptoms appear. Its MaiRa platform analyses cell-free RNA (cfRNA) in maternal blood and uses predictive modelling to assess the risk of complications such as preeclampsia.
The platform builds on more than a decade of research by co-founders Professor Carlos Simón and Dr Tamara Garrido. It was developed using more than 26,000 samples from 10,000 pregnancies in Spain’s PREMOM study.
iPremom aims to give clinicians and expectant parents an earlier understanding of pregnancy health, supporting more informed decisions and targeted care. It’s also using its dataset to identify molecular signals linked to additional complications, with plans to expand the platform over time.
