About

Refute is a technology company combating disinformation by detecting and responding to narrative-based attacks at the speed of the adversary. Using a quantitative approach, the platform fuses, traces, and scores narratives and behaviours across interconnected data to uncover and counter disinformation campaigns.

These attacks are rising rapidly—driven by geopolitical instability and the accessibility of generative AI—leaving organisations increasingly vulnerable. Disinformation can inflict significant reputational and financial harm on businesses, while also eroding public trust and undermining progress on global challenges such as health, climate change, economic stability, and crime.

Co-founded by Tom Garnett (CEO) and Vlad Galu (CTO), Refute brings together over 40 years of experience building world-leading data analysis systems to counter threats including terrorism, cyberattacks, identity theft, and money laundering.
