Bio
Craig Marshall is a Venture Partner at Amadeus Capital Partners in its early stage, deep tech investment team having joined in 2026.
He led OrganOx as CEO from 2016 to 2026. OrganOx was spun out of Oxford University in 2008 to address the largest unmet need within organ transplantation, namely the shortage of viable organs. When Craig joined the small team of 12 employees OrganOx had a value of <$40m. Over the past 9 years OrganOx has experienced phenomenal growth, culminating in the acquisition by the Japanese medtech company, Terumo, for $1.5 billion in October 2025. To date OrganOx technology has been deployed in more than 8,000 transplants in North America and across Europe. OrganOx also won the MacRobert Prize for its contribution to society in 2025.
Prior to OrganOx Craig worked at Siemens Healthineers in the UK and in Germany, GE Healthcare, Amersham International. Craig started work after university in 1985 at the first spin-out of Oxford University, Oxford Instruments plc.
Following a first degree in Mechanical Engineering from Liverpool University Craig worked for 10 years as an engineer, with mixed results, he realised there were other engineers who were far better than he would ever be. However, he believed he could be a better manager than those he worked for. This drove Craig to persuade his employers at the time to fund his MBA at Warwick University, which he was awarded with a distinction. After 20 years as an engineer and project manager Craig first became a line manager at the age of 41, however by the age of 47 he was the Managing Director of the Siemens Healthineers MR magnet factory in Oxford, where a team of 450 engineers, scientists and technicians were responsible for the design and manufacture of 1,200 MRI magnets year, the role he left after 6 years in 2016 to join OrganOx.
