Simon is a venture partner at Amadeus, where he specialises in the communications and media sectors. Since joining in 2001, Simon has worked on a number of investments for the firm and sits as a non-executive director on the board of several portfolio companies. These include four Stockholm-based companies: Transmode Holdings (TRMO), which makes data transmission equipment and which listed successfully on NASDAQ OMX in May 2011; Edgeware, which makes high-bandwidth solid-state servers for the IPTV and other markets; Xelerated, a networking semiconductor company; and PacketFront, a market leader in European fibre-to-home networks. Simon is currently chairman of both Xelerated and PacketFront. Simon also sits on the board of Intune Networks, a Dublin-based company developing next-generation equipment for telecommunications networks, and served on the board of Liquavista, which develops low-power consumption high viewability electronic displays, until its sale to Samsung in late 2010.
Simon joined Amadeus from Two Way TV, a digital TV entertainment and technology company, where he was chief executive. Prior to founding Two Way TV, Simon worked at Boston Consulting Group and at the Granada Group. Simon holds five patents in digital and interactive TV.
Simon holds an MA in Public Policy Management from the Yale School of Management, and a BA and MA in Modern Languages from Oxford University. He is fluent in Thai and also speaks French and German.
