Roy is a special partner at Amadeus, focusing on the telecommunications and business services sectors. Roy joined Amadeus as a director in May 2005, since then he has made investments in: End2End, a mobile data solutions company that was sold to MACH in 2006; Nomad, which supplies and operates networks providing true broadband connectivity to trains; and EnQii, which provides a managed service proposition to digital-out-of-home advertising networks. Roy sits on the board of both Nomad and EnQii.
He has developed extensive skills in structuring deals and building companies through working at firms as diverse as Apax Partners, Providence Equity Partners, and latterly DB Capital Venture Partners, where Roy was Managing Partner. In between, he spent four years as Chief Financial Officer of Esprit Telecom Group, a NASDAQ-listed, pan-European, facilities-based, long-distance telephone operator that was acquired by GTS in 1999. He is also non-executive Chairman of Axon Group PLC, a FTSE-250 listed IT services company.
Roy holds an MBA with distinction from INSEAD. He received MEng and BA degrees in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University. He speaks French.
