Andrey is an investment manager with Amadeus. Since joining the firm in 2003, he has worked on a number of investments and has sat on the board of several portfolio companies as a non-executive director or observer. These include: Openbravo, a developer of open source software for business management; TeraView, a terahertz instrumentation company; and Solexa, which developed ultra-high throughput DNA sequencing technology and was acquired by Illumina in 2007; Staccato, a company delivering wireless USB chipsets; and Valista, a software company providing payments and offer management software to wireless and fixed line operators and ISPs.
Prior to joining Amadeus, Andrey gained substantial international experience in technology start-ups. His previous roles were predominantly commercial positions in software and telecommunications sectors in such companies as: Scala Business Solutions, a multinational business software company; PanTel Telecom, the eastern European subsidiary of KPN; and Nextra, an internet division of Telenor. Andrey started his career at Baltic Communications, a Russian subsidiary of Cable & Wireless.
He holds an MBA from INSEAD and an MSc in Computer Science from the Air-Space Instruments University in Russia.
A Russian native, Andrey is fluent in Russian and English and speaks basic Hungarian.
