Transmode

Transmode Holdings makes fibre-optic telecommunications equipment that meets the need of metropolitan network operators for increased bandwidth and more sophisticated services. Transmode's product line includes wavelength division multiplexing systems and intelligent aggregation solutions that allow many variants of voice and data traffic to be carried seamlessly over dark fibre or legacy telecoms networks.

In 2001, Amadeus Capital Partners Limited led an international syndicate of investors in a second round of financing, raising $6.5 million for Transmode Systems. The firm has also provided a range of support in strategic planning, marketing and recruitment.

Late in 2004, Transmode completed a further round of financing, totalling $15 million, led by Harbourvest Partners, and in which Amadeus also participated. In April 2005, Transmode Systems merged with Lumentis AB to form Transmode Holdings, with the objective of enabling the combined company to provide end-to-end solutions for their customers. The company is now well-positioned for continued success, particularly as the growth of consumer broadband creates a requirement for higher and higher bandwidths at the edge of the network. During 2005 and 2006 the company has continued to make strong progress and has announced a number of significant new customer wins.
