Staccato is a fabless semiconductor and software company working in the area of next generation wireless connectivity. The company's products provide users with the ability to transfer large amounts of data between devices over wireless connections. The company's focus is on standard-compliant products for power sensitive portable devices, such as storage devices, digital cameras, camcorders, MP3 players, PDAs, mobile phones and projectors.
Staccato develops and sells semiconductors, software and reference designs based on single-chip CMOS for wireless USB, high-speed Bluetooth and streaming services and Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology. Staccato's Ripcord® product family offers highly integrated, low-power and high-speed wireless connectivity in the smallest of form-factors. Staccato Communications was formed in November 2008 by a merger of Staccato and Artimi, which combined the complementary expertise of both companies, forming an entity with strong hardware and software skills and products.
Amadeus invested in Artimi before the merger and has also supported the merged entity. Hermann Hauser is a non-executive director on the Board of Staccato.
