Power Paper is a leading provider of thin and flexible batteries, known as micro-power source technology that can be adapted to fit the size, thickness and form factors required for the design of any product. These environmentally friendly, safe energy cells require no metal casing and can be printed cost-effectively directly onto paper, plastics or other surfaces by standard printing technology. A well-established company, Power Paper has targeted high-volume, high-value markets worldwide focusing on healthcare and cosmetic applications.
Power Paper is not the only player in the micro-power product arena but no other company offers the combination of flexibility, low-cost, ease of manufacturing and environmental friendliness of the Power Paper technology. In 2007 PowerID was spun out of Power Paper taking with it the intellectual property associated with the company’s radio frequency identification (RFID ) battery applications.
Amadeus first invested in Power Paper in 2003, leading a $15 million expansion financing round for the company. Founded in 1997, and currently with headquarters in Israel, Power Paper raised further capital in 2005 and attracted two new investors to the syndicate, Apax and Clal Industries.
