Orchestream developed software that allows providers of virtual private networks (VPNs) to provide quality-of-service guarantees between different points on the network. These guarantees are necessary to ensure predictable end-to-end performance over Internet Protocol (IP) networks. Orchestream’s Service Activator™ and Resolve™ products successfully allowed users to quickly identify and repair trouble spots in a network, optimise the performance of the network and proactively manage service level agreements for customers.

Amadeus was involved with Orchestream from 1998, participating in two rounds of financing, prior to the IPO of the company in June 2000. Orchestream was acquired by MetaSolv in 2003.
