Icera is a fabless semiconductor company that has developed a breakthrough baseband processor and advanced wireless modem technology. Icera’s software is designed to support both current and future wireless standards. Because these platform solutions offer high performance and unprecedented flexibility at low-power, they furnish handset and data card manufacturers with the ability to deliver differentiated cellular devices.
Icera is based in the UK with offices in the US, France and Japan. Amadeus was attracted to the company because of its breakthrough technology and the experience of the executive team. Amadeus backed the team previously in E14, an investment that was successfully sold in a trade sale in 2000.
Amadeus led the Series 'C' investment round in January 2006, which included existing investors Atlas Ventures, Benchmark Capital and Accel Partners. Hermann Hauser is a non-executive director of Icera.
